Samurai Sword Action Workshop
This summer semester (June 5th and July 3rd), TUJ students participated in a 90 minute workshop to learn about Japanese swords and perform in a choreographed sword fight. This group of expert swordsmen was led by Tetsuro Shimaguchi, who was the lead choreographer for the snowy garden swordfight scene in the movie Kill Bill: Volume One, and who also played the role of Crazy 88 (Miki) in the film. Shimaguchi’s group has performed in England, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Chicago.
